Please read the information below from the Head Of Dual Enrollment at Nicholls:

Please make sure to type signatures into the electronic form before submitting-

For the fall 2020 semester, students do not need an ACT composite score to participate in Dual Enrollment.  However, a DE student will need scores for placement into mathematics or English.  Any assessment listed on the third page of the application in Section 5 may be used for placement.  If a student has ACT scores but has not met the minimum for placement into mathematics or English, the student may use any of the other assessment measures for placement such as ACCUPLACER or Leap 2025.  Scores are the priority for placement.  If a student has any of the scores listed in section 5 of the application that place them into mathematics or English, please submit those.  As before, students must have a cumulative gpa of 2.5 or better to participate in Dual Enrollment.

If a student does not have scores, or the scores are not sufficient to place the student into mathematics or English, the counselor may make a recommendation for placement.  It should be based on overall performance and grade trends in the subject (math or English).  It should also be based on your best judgement.  You know your students and their academic abilities better than anyone.  Please include recommendations in the email with the application.  Recommendations should be a last resort.  Also, remember that students deficient in one area (math or English) can still take courses related to the other.  Please see note 2 in Section 5 of the application.
